Happy DS Day! Part 2

The Arrival

I checked the mail today and got a wonderful surprise: my Mew DS arrived. It's in good shape; all I need to do now is find the Mew hard cover that I ordered from the Pokémon Center last year, pick up my DS starter kit and I'll be set. Then, the waiting for Diamond and Pearl shall begin in earnest.

My significant other has said he's just a little bit jealous of me. I think he already kinda likes my DS.

Speaking of Pokémon, I found a couple of new action figures at Target this past week. DP (my S.O.) and I were out and about on Thursday night, so we went to Target to check out their Transformers selection. DP found the 10th anniversary Beast Wars Optimus Primal and Megatron. He let loose a happy, "Oooh," when he grabbed them. I was about to comment about his reaction when I spotted a Lugia figure, with a Mewtwo figure hiding behind it. I gasped and grabbed them both, then promptly quit teasing DP. He did tease me quite a bit, however. :)

Happy DS Day!

Well it will be, really soon!

Won a DS off eBay; it's the Mew version. I can't wait to get ahold of it. I've only seen pictures, so holding one will be awesome! I can hardly wait until it gets here! :) After that, it'll be "count the days until Diamond & Pearl are released". =/ At least I'll have Nintendogs, Trozei, and Pokémon: Mystery Dungeon to keep me happy until then.

On a sadder note, stingrays are having a tough time of it. I understand that people are upset because of Steve Irwin's death, but taking it all out on the stingrays won't help. It won't bring him back, and I don't think Mr. Irwin would approve of taking such actions. Please, leave the stingrays alone. Please. It was a tragic accident, not an malicious act. Besides, Steve would be really hurt if he heard about this. So, stop now. Don't sully the man's memory, okay?

On a work-related note, it seems that my retail chain will no longer have a layaway program. That just gives me another excuse to get my Nintendo DS starter set paid off early. But it'll be bad for our Christmas sales. :(

Mysteries Abound

I pre-ordered a copy of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon this past week. I'll be picking it and the guide as well, up from my local EB Games. I have high hopes for it. In a couple of weeks, I'll be playing it and hopefully make a full report about it as well.

I can hardly wait. Pokémon is one of the few things that has kept me sane over the past few months. It's been like an escape for me, a way to take my mind off my problems. It's been a help during these dark times.

The game requires strategy and thought, which occupies my mind and keeps it from thinking about other, less pleasant things. In it, I can lose myself for a few moments and not worry. Pokémon has been a bright spot on some of my darker days. It's been a welcome break from my drudge-filled days.

Pokémon, a simple RPG. But it's also been a way for me to cope. And a way to keep sane.

Time Passes

As it always does.

It's been a long, long time.

I've been trying to get used to the new house, the new neighborhood, everything, but it's taking longer than I had previously thought. My work schedule hasn't been the best in the world, and that hasn't helped, either. So, my blog has fallen by the wayside.

I'm working to correct that.

I'm hoping to post at least once a week from now on, more if possible.

In other news, my beloved is still "out of sorts", as it were. I daresay he hasn't quite gotten over that awful day in December. Neither have I, truth be told. I still think that I see David from time to time, either waiting in line or walking around my store. Sometimes, I think I hear his voice.

It makes me want to cry.

Those who say "Time heals all wounds" are foolish. It doesn't heal the wounds, it only dulls the pain.

The pain is still palpable. The pain is still constant. And the pain never goes away.
